⚖️Contstitutional & Environmental Law Moot Court⚖️

September 28 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

⚖️ The first competition of the year has arrived! 👩‍⚖️

The case Flynn v State of Lavendelia takes you to Strasbourg, where Miss Flynn has brought a case against the (fictional) State of Lavendelia before the European Court of Human Rights.

The case explores fundamental rights and environmental law 🌿☀️ — what obligations do States have when it comes to combating climate change? Can individuals rely on these rights? This is your chance to argue as if you were before the ECtHR!

📚 First-year students: This is a great opportunity to learn more about fundamental rights and their protection within the Council of Europe system, connecting directly with Constitutional Law. To make it less daunting, first-year teams will have a coach guiding them throughout the competition.

📖 Second-year students: The case deepens your knowledge of Constitutional Law and connects with environmental law topics from Public International Law.

👩‍⚖️ And there’s more! Prof. Leach and Prof. Paiement will act as judges. They are familiar faces to many GLB students, making this a great opportunity to argue in front of professors you already know!
