The World's Largest Independent Law Students' Association
Our international network encompasses more than 50,000 young lawyers and law students.
Our STEP programme offers our members the opportunity to gain paid legal work experience in a foreign country. The unique chance to professionally engage with a foreign legal system helps our members set themselves aside in pursuing their legal careers.
Our ELSA Law Schools, Delegations & Moot Court Competitions give participants the opportunity to make contacts with people from all around the world. They provide a combination of academic, social and cultural experience.
As well as academic trips and lectures, ELSA Tilburg hosts monthly drinks, parties and study trips to various destinations. Join to get to know your fellow members.
ELSA was founded in Vienna on the 4th of May 1981 by students from Poland, Austria, Hungary and Western Germany. The aim of the association was to stimulate international relations between students across the Iron Curtain. Today, ELSA is the world’s largest independent law students’ association counting more than 50,000 members, represented at within 375 local groups in 44 countries, ranging from Ireland to Azerbaijan, and from Finland to Malta.
ELSA Tilburg is one of the eight local groups in the Netherlands, alongside Nijmegen, Leiden, Maastricht, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Groningen.
ELSA activities comprise a large variety of academic and professional events and projects that are organized to fulfil the vision of ELSA and in order to provide our members opportunities to enhance their skills and to interact with each other. Furthermore ELSA provides law students opportunities to develop their skills through our traineeship program as well as through our publications. Finally, working in the ELSA Network prepares active members of ELSA for their professional life through international experience gained through the association.
